It’s been a long awhile….
I thought I should give you a little life update.
I can’t even remember the last time l wrote a blog post. But if you are reading, I think you are one loyal person and l appreciate you for hanging around.
Life has been interesting the past few months so I thought as we begin afresh l would give you a little update on what is going on. A few things have changed in my life, I took a hiatus from Women Set Apart for a little while so I could settle down after marriage, and so l could refocus the whole vision and direction of this ministry.
A few of you may know that I got married last year December.
Just to give you a little background to our story. We met back in 2010 at a Church Annual Camp Meeting and we started dating the following year in 2011. We were together for just over 5 years before he FINALLY popped the question.(haha) We got engaged on his birthday in July, He went and paid dowry three months later in October and two months after that we said “l DO” in front of our family in December 2016. A few of you emailed me asking why l did not wear the traditional white wedding dress. Well… I have always wanted a BIG wedding but because of finances and other commitments we decided to have a small marriage blessing with just family so we could start living together and save up for the wedding of our dreams in the future. And because we intend on still having our “white wedding” later I decided to wear an ivory dress and save the white wedding dress for when we do have the big day. So that is definitely a day that I am still eagerly looking forward to.
It’s truly a testimony of faith how it all happened. Everything happened so fast and everything that we didn’t think possible all fell into place at the right time. God is truly faithful and we saw his leading through the whole process. What we believed would take two more years God made possible within 6 months and that was definitely an answered prayer on our part. All l can say is GOD IS FOREVER FAITHFUL!!
In other news…
I also started my own Web and Graphic design business full time on the 1st of March 2017. This is something that I had been doing as a Hobby and during my spare time in the evenings, but I decided that this was something I wanted to do on a full time basis which would hopefully also free up some time for me to work on the ministry. So if you have any design needs or need a website done then go on over to my business website www.mimzzadesigns.com and send me an email and l will be happy to assist!
After much thought, l took the plunge and started a Women Set Apart YouTube channel. This is definitely something that has been on my to do list for a long time but I never got round to doing it so I determined in my heart that I would do it in June and l have. The YouTube channel is going to be an extension of the blog so I do hope you subscribe, watch and find it useful as we go along.
So that is all for a little life update from me.
I don’t want Women Set Apart to always be about me, I believe that would defeat the purpose of building a community. I want to hear from you and I want to learn from you as well. In the past we’ve often touched on so many topics and there wasn’t really a focus point to it all. This time I want us to be focused. For the next 6 months until the end of this year I want us to focus on the following:
- Relationships.. Dating, courtship, engagement, marriage, intimacy.
- Womanhood.. Issues affecting us as women.
- Health and wellbeing for us as women.
- Bible based daily or weekly devotions.
These are the four branches that we want to look into.
I cannot do all this by myself and I believe this is the importance of having a community of like-minded people. So If you have a passion for sharing with other women and if you have any knowledge or experience in any of the above focus points and you would like to write for Women Set Apart this year, between July and December please let me know.
We would love to have high quality content, informative and knowledgeable. With every article people read l want them to leave having learnt something. If you would like to contribute to Women Set Apart you can fill out the contact form below and l will send you more info.
